Per un pattinatore, essere invitato, è un elemento di pregio nella propria carriera artistica. Come disse infatti uno dei creatori dell’evento, Oliver Honer, non è sufficiente essere molto bravi per essere invitati. Non basta essere un campione olimpico. Devi anche piacere. E plushenko è a quota otto edizioni!
Parlando solo di Art on Ice, nella sua carriera si è trovato sulla stessa pista e ha pattinato sulle note di personaggi del calibro di Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac, Seal, Zucchero, solo per menzionarne alcuni.
Questa è stata per lui la volta dei leggendari Jacksons, di Jessie J e James Gruntz.
Assistere alla presentazione di grande impatto scenico - che richiamava video d’epoca- e poi finalmente vedere alcuni di quelli che furono i Jackson 5, è stato come fare un tuffo nel passato con dei veri e propri pezzi di storia proprio lì davanti a te.
E un altro tuffo nella storia lo abbiamo fatto vedendo Plushenko di nuovo con un costume scintillante pattinare sulle musiche dei Jacksons. Con il cuore e la memoria siamo tornati al 2002 quando un giovanissimo ed esplosivo Evgeni regalava alla storia un programma da archiviare negli annali.
Questa volta le note erano quelle di "Don’t stop till you get enough" .Tutto inizia con il grande lavoro dei Light Balance che mettono in pista uno spettacolo unico dove ballerini e pattinatori si esibiscono in costumi che s’illuminano sincronizzati con pc e musica elettronica. Segue l’introduzione musicale dei Jacksons, dopodiché Evgeni compare sul ghiaccio e accompagna i quattro che vengono trasportati in mezzo alla pista su di un "palco" mobile. L’esibizione si conclude in un crescendo con l’ingresso in scena di nuovo dei ballerini e pattinatori “illuminati a led”. Si fa prima a vederlo che a spiegarlo. Un successo!
Sempre parlando d introduzioni particolari, poco dopo, ci viene la pelle d’oca quando, nel buio, sentiamo le note di Tributo a Nijinsky. Cosa dovevamo aspettarci? Si accendono le luci e a pattinare non era Evgeni, ma pattinatori del cast in costumi da caccia alle streghe. Qualcun altro stava usando la musica di Evgeni? Il mistero si chiarisce quando lui stesso entra in pista per pattinare Carmina Burana. Perfetta introduzione!!
Più tardi lo vediamo nuovamente sul ghiaccio assieme a Fernandez e Gummenik per un numero di gruppo su “Do it like a dude” di Jessie J.
Si, perche c’era anche lei all’Art on Ice, ampiamente annunciata. E a ragion veduta! Un vero e proprio ciclone di energia e voce. Il suo scopo? Animare lo spettacolo con qualità. E così è stato. La grande personalità di Jessie J ha dato l’iniezione definitiva di energia nel gran finale. Tutti sul palco e in pista per dare un saluto indimenticabile al pubblico.
Evgeni nei sei spettacoli di Zurigo ha alternato gli elementi presentati tra cui due tripli axel nello spettacolo di giovedì e combinazioni a tre salti eseguite in più di un occasione. Per il resto è stato il "solito" Evgeni. Presenza sul ghiaccio, carisma, quella sua capacità unica di rapire emotivamente il pubblico e portarlo con se in pista. La sua ripetuta presenza all’Art on Ice è l’ennesima conferma delle sue doti artistiche e non solo tecniche!!
Un momento toccante dello show sono state le parole di Jermaine Jackson in ricordo del fratello Michael nell'introdurre la canzone "Gone too soon" pattinata dal beniamino di casa Stephane Lambiel.

Impossibile almeno non menzionare anche il resto del cast: Sotnikova, Volosozhar/Trankov, Stolbova/Klimov, Fernandez, Papadakis/Cizeron, Davis/White, Sawyer, il piccolo Gummenyk e l’adorabile Liza Nugumanova, un concentrato di vivacità, energia, gioia e passione per il pattinaggio. Bravissima tecnicamente e artisticamente molto bella da vedere.
Ma anche comici e artisti vari come Ekenah, Karyna & Suren, Inertie.
Lo spettacolo replica a Losanna il 9 e 10 febbraio e a Davos il 12 e 13.

Plushenko is back again with a glittering costume while skating on the music of the Jacksons. With the heart and the memory we go back to 2002 season when a young and explosive Evgeni made history with a program to be remembered "Michael Jackson's medley".
This time the notes were those of "Do not stop till you get enough". Everything starts with the great job of the Light Balance (dancers with led costumes) skating on electronic music. Later the Jacksons begin their performance, Evgeni enters the ice then and accompanies the four that sing on a moving stage. The exhibition ends in a crescendo with The LED dance crew. That's quicker to watch it than to explain it. A success!
Keep focusing on special introductions, shortly after, we get goose bumps when, in the darkness, we listen to the notes of Tribute to Nijinsky. What should were we allowed to think of? The lights turned on but Evgeni was not on the ice, only crew skaters with hunting witches-like costumes. Was anyone else using Evgeni's music? The mystery is solved when Evgeni's took the ice and skated on Carmina Burana. Perfect introduction!!
Later we see him back to the ice along with Fernandez and Gummenik for a group number "Do it like a dude" with Jessie J singing live.
Yes, because she was at the Art on Ice too, loudly announced. A real tornado of voice and energy that took the show to a louder fancy level. The great personality of Jessie J gave the final injection of energy in the grand finale. Everyone on stage and on the ice rink gave a memorable show ending to the public.
In the six shows of Zurich Evgeni alternatively presented his jumps repertory, including two triple axel in the show on Thursday and combinations performed in more than one occasion. For the rest it was our "usual" Evgeni. Strong presence on the ice, charisma, his unique ability to emotionally kidnap the audience and to take their energy with him on the ice. His multiple appearances at the Art on Ice is yet another confirmation of his artistic skills, not the technical ones only!!
A touching moment of the show was the moment when Jermaine Jackson gave a tribute in memory of his brother Michael while introducing the song "Gone too soon" where Stephane Lambiel, the Swiss pupil skated on.
The rest of the starring cast: Olympic Champ Adelina Sotnikova, Volosozhar / Trankov, Stolbova / Klimov, European Champ Fernandez, Papadakis / CIZERON, Oly champs Davis / White, then Sawyer, and the adorable little Petr Gummenyk and Liza Nugumanova, a concentrate of vitality, energy, joy and passion for skating coming from Alexei Nicolaevich's school. These two kids are very good both technically and artistically, a pleasure to watch them.
But also comedians and other artists like Ekenah, Karyna & Suren, Inertie were awesome.
