Conclusa ieri sera l’ottava edizione del Golden Skate
Awards, Galà di chiusura dei Campionati Nazionali italiani a cui hanno preso
parte i protagonisti dei Nazionali stessi tra cui i neocampioni Cappellini/Lanotte, Righini, Russo, Marchei/Hotarek, ma anche Guarise/Della Monica e
Rodighiero.
Piacevole sorpresa last minute la presenza nel cast della
campionessa mondiale Miki Ando, grazia infinita sul ghiaccio. Rivisto con
piacere Samuel Contesti, grande perdita del pattinaggio italiano. Spettacolari
Gazsi/Zhiganshina. Meravigliosa come sempre l’arte di Stephane Lambiel, con un
po’ meno energia del solito. Applausi a scena aperta per una meravigliosa Carolina Kostner
che ha gustato tutto l’affetto del pubblico mentre si esibiva sulle note di
Bonzo’s Montreaux e nel sublime programma olimpico dell’Ave Maria.
Plushenko, alla sua settima presenza a questo evento, riceve
come premio il “Golden Skate Awards Storico”. Grande spettacolo quindi anche se
con qualche problema organizzativo come biglietti doppi, ecc.. Attendiamo di vederlo su Italia 1 il 01.01.2015 ore 21.10.
Il pubblico dei Campionati Italiani, un po’ più freddino
rispetto al solito del Palavela, è comunque esploso quando ha messo i piedi sul
ghiaccio lo Zar, la vera e unica leggenda vivente del pattinaggio, che piaccia
o no. E quando ci si chiede perché sia considerato tale, è sufficiente andare a
vederlo dal vivo, non in televisione o su internet, per capire. Il suo palmares
sarebbe sufficiente a spiegarlo, ma il motivo non è solo il numero di medaglie
messe al collo che non ha paragoni con altri atleti nella storia. Non è solo il
fatto che ha scritto la storia di uno sport in epoche in cui c’erano “scontri
tra titani” a suon di quadrupli dove le cadute erano cose più uniche che rare,
dove le sequenze di passi erano spettacolari perché potevano essere fatte alla
velocità della luce, da chi era in grado di farlo, grazie ad un regolamento più
semplice. Il motivo era lì ieri sera sul ghiaccio del Palavela.
E’ vero, il pattinaggio è anche una questione di gusti. E’ vero,
nelle gare è giusto guardare “il pelo nell’uovo”, ma, se ogni volta che Evgeni
scende sul ghiaccio scatena le folle, qualche riflessione bisognerà farla.
Trovare qualcuno annoiato dopo aver visto quattro minuti di
Plushenko è molto raro, eccezion fatta per chi ha posizioni di parte.
Lo spettacolo è indubbio e le emozioni anche, soprattutto se lo Zar è in forma.
Ieri abbiamo visto uno Zar un po’ stanco dei cambi di aereo e reduce da un intervento chirurgico di neanche un
anno fa, ma già in splendida condizione fisica e unico ad aver eseguito combinazioni di salti nello show. Ma che dire? Il primo programma è stato l’olimpico Best of Plushenko con
variazione sulla musica. Tolte le note della Tosca. Viscerale è rimasto comunque l’angelo sull’Adagio di
Albinoni. Grandissima emozione la sua interpretazione non solo coi movimenti
del corpo, ma anche con l’espressione adeguata del viso, inevitabile in ogni
arte degna di tale nome. Avevamo curiosità per il programma che avrebbe portato
nella seconda parte dello spettacolo e, come previsto, luci basse, silenzio
sugli spalti, partono le note di Storm. E Plushenko ci mette l’anima. Il
Palavela risponde e lo accompagna. Parte la sequenza di passi. Eccolo! E’ lui!
Velocissimo, energia da vendere, intensità unica. Le sequenze che ci hanno
fatto innamorare del suo stile. Così ormai impossibili da vedere nel panorama
del pattinaggio recente. Quei passi coi quali sembra voglia divorarla quella
pista. Quelle pause prima di partire alla velocità della luce, che creano
aspettativa, che lasciano preludere i fuochi d’artificio, quelle pause troppo
spesso attribuite solo a momenti di riposo, quelle pause riempite con movimenti
intensi. Poi via…. Il pubblico lo segue, lui sorride e alla fine è standing
ovation. Come sempre…. Il suo stile che alterna musica lenta e note veloci col
risultato che quattro minuti passano senza neanche accorgersi. Impossibile
annoiarsi. Questa è anche la grande differenza tra lui e altri pattinatori di gran
livello.

The audience of
the Italian national Championships was a bit 'more chilly than usual standards
of Palavela and it exploded anyway when the Tsar put his feet on the ice , the
one and only true living legend of figure skating, that like it or not. And
when one wonders why he is considered like that, simply go to see him live, not
by watching its shows on television or through the internet, to understand the
reason. His palmares would of course be enough to clear it, but the reason is
not only the number of medals placed around his neck that is countless and
never reached by any other athlete in the history of this sport. It's not just
the fact that he wrote the history of figure skating in times when there were
"real battles of (figure skating) titans" surrouded by the sound of
quad landings and where falls were rare happenings , where the step sequences
were spectacular because they could be made by using the speed of light, by
those who were able to so, and thank to an easier judging system allowing the
athletes to be free to express themselves . The reason was there last night up
on the ice of Palavela.
It
's true, skating is often a matter of taste, . It 's true, that while watching
a competition it's right to look "at details", but, if every single
time that Evgeni takes the ice he unleashes the crowd, some reflection have to
be done . To find someone bored after seeing four minutes of Plushenko is very
rare, except for those who take positions on skating style. The show is
undoubtedly amazing and emotions are many too, especially when the Tsar is in
good shape. Yesterday we saw him somehow 'tired cause of the trip to come to
Turin and just recovered from a surgery he went throug less than a year ago,
but anyway in splendid physical condition and (surprised?) being the only one
to execute jumps combination on the show. But you know what? The first program
was the Olympic program "Best of Plushenko" with a variation on the
music. He removed (pity) the notes of Tosca. Anyway it was a deeply visceral
feeling the one given by the angel move on Adagio of Albinoni piece of music.
Great emotion from his performance not only given by the movements of his body,
but mostly (we have to tell you) gifted to the audience by the adequate
expression of the face, which is inevitable in any Art worthing this name as
Figure Skating should be. We were of course wondering about the second program
he would have performed in the second part of the show and, as expected, under
low lights, the silence in the stands, the notes of Storm delight the Arena.
And Plushenko put his soul by skating it. The Palavela responds and accompanies
him. The step sequence begins . Here it is! That's him! Fast as hell, energy to
die for, unique intensity. The sequences which made us all to fall in love with
his style. Those are so impossible to see in the competitive figure skating
nowadays... Those steps by which he seems to devour the rink instead of taking
it. And those pauses before the starting of his unbelievable speed, creating
expectations that prelude to fireworks, those breaks too often attributed to
resting moments by some kind of haters , those pauses on the contrary filled
with intense, heartbreaking moves. Then go! .... The audience follows him , he
smiles and eventually it's a standing ovation. Like always .... His style which
alterntes slow and fast music has the result that four minutes of his
performances just fly away without even noticing that. It's Impossible to get
bored. This is another of the big differences between him and other big-names
of figure skaters.
